Legal Fees<\/h3>\n

Most law firms charge their clients at rates of hundreds of dollars per hour. At Liu Law Office, we believe you should know what you\u2019re paying before you decide to retain an attorney. You wouldn\u2019t buy a home before knowing how much it costs. Why would you treat the situation any differently when it comes to your lawyer? That\u2019s why we offer flat fees<\/span><\/em> for our legal services instead of expensive and unpredictable hourly rates.<\/p>\n

What is a flat fee?<\/h3>\n

This means you pay one simple flat fee at the start of legal representation. In most cases, such as with real estate closings and commercial leasing, you pay a one time fee and that\u2019s it; you never have to pay us again. For more complicated and time-consuming litigation work, the flat fees are charged in phases (see next item).<\/p>\n

How are longer and more complex cases charged under this flat fee model?<\/h3>\n

Complex cases are charged in phases. For example, one flat fee for negotiating a settlement only. Alternatively, it can be one flat fee every 3 months. Either way, there are no surprise legal bills or hidden costs and you always know what you\u2019re paying for up-front before you decide to retain us. If you pay us for 3 months of representation and your case is concluded within that time, then you never have to pay us again. If your case has not concluded in the 3-months time, you can choose to continue representation for another 3-month period for an additional flat fee. No fuss, no muss.<\/p>\n

Are there additional costs should my case go to trial?<\/h3>\n

In litigation, 90% of cases do not<\/em> go to trial because the vast majority settle out of court. In the rare instance that your case does reach trial, there are additional court fees, filing fees, and other fees that will be incurred to you. These fees will, of course, be explained to you at the beginning of the trial phase so you know from the start what you\u2019re paying.<\/p>\n

How much are your flat fees?<\/h3>\n

Unfortunately, we cannot quote set legal fees on this website. One client\u2019s case can vary greatly in difficultly and complexity from another\u2019s. In order to be fair, we quote our fees after<\/em> the initial consultation with each client.  From there, the client can decide whether to retain our firm.<\/p>\n
